Klasien van de Zandschulp designs story-based and participatory experiences, blending digital/physical and online/offline interactions. Her work explores sensory design, embodiment, rituals, augmented realities, human interaction, and (radical) thoughts around our daily technology consumption. Van de Zandschulp is fellow at the Institute of Network Cultures (NL, 2020) and the Sundance New Frontier Story Lab (USA, 2019) and guest researcher at the Artez Future Makers Institute. Van de Zandschulp recently won the IDFA DocLab Immersive Non-Fiction award.
In collaboration with Emilie Baltz, she created a futuristic cooking show called Eat Tech Kitchen, and with VR artist Ali Eslami she designed the interactive installation "Sacred Hill". In October this year, Van de Zandschulp will launch the project "Good Neighbours", a collaboration with South African researcher Natalie Dixon. "Good Neighbours" is an interactive documentary about intimate surveillance and the micro-politics of neighbourhoods. During the recent lockdown, she created Distance Disco, a virtual dancefloor for techno romances!
