Patti has been heavily involved in Canada's independent and underground music communities for more than 25 years—from running labels to performing, making radio and programming events. She joined CBC Radio 2 in 1991 as a programmer, researcher and fill-in host for Brave New Waves, a national, nightly, new music program that launched in 1984, which specialized in music and culture from the fringes and the future. By 1995, she was the host and later, executive producer of the program until it ended in 2007. She continued to front various CBC radio programs and remained involved in illuminating music, arts and culture across Canada and the world. From 2008 until 2019, she worked as a curator, editor and producer for the MUTEK festival of electronic music and digital creativity, based in Montréal. In 2016 she was the Artistic Director and lead faculty for Convergence: Electronic Music + Visual Arts, a residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. She continues to work in digital arts and culture for a variety of organizations including, The British Council Canada, Pride Toronto and Envision Management’s contemporary arts web portal, 4-VU.
