AutechreUK
Since the 1990s, Autechre has explored sound as a raw material. They design rhythmic structures that collapse and regenerate. Their music isn't meant to be background music; it's meant to be immersive.
As pioneers of Warp Records, they released their debut album, Incunabula, in 1993, establishing themselves as forerunners in the use of algorithms and artificial intelligence processes in music composition.
Contemporary with Aphex Twin and LFO, and a direct inspiration for SOPHIE and Oneohtrix Point Never, their legacy stems from a monumental body of work full of glitch, abstraction, mutating textures, and sonic impact.
Autechre is emotional engineering in real time: you don't see them, you feel them. Their live show features no screens, no lights, no visuals. Just complete darkness. And a sonic architecture that unravels you from within.
As part of MUTEK MX 21, they will perform in Latin America for the first time on Sunday, October 12.
