SeulementCA/QC
Mathieu Arsenault, aka Seulement, uses technological tools like an artisan molding clay: sound and image are manipulated with a sensitivity open to error, to the human mark, to the happy accident.
With a strong presence in Montreal's creative scene, Mathieu works as a producer, composer, and visual artist. In addition to Seulement, he makes music with the band Technical Kidman and is a frequent collaborator with filmmakers, dancers, and transdisciplinary artists.
With Bricolage Architecture, Seulement immerses us in his highly personal take on architecture, creating a powerful audiovisual framework of voice loops and flutes alongside cardboard figures, cut out and digitized by himself in a dedicated manual process.
The foundations of this fictional architecture lie in vulnerability within technological perfection. What he seeks is to show us the beauty of the organic in an era that seems increasingly dominated by the artificial.
After releasing the album EX PO (Mothland, 2021), Seulement returns with this powerful performance that had its premiere at MUTEK Montreal and with which he arrives for the first time in Latin America, with performances at the M+ festival in Honduras, MUTEK Buenos Aires and the unmissable date at Nocturne on October 10.
The presentation of this work is possible thanks to the financial support of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. Co -presented by MUTEK.
