Second Wave of Confirmed Artists: Alessandro Cortini, Tarta Relena, Rival Consoles, Wata Igarashi and more.

With the Second Wave of Artists, the sale of Individual Tickets for A/Visions 1, A/Visions 2 and Nocturne 360 is activated, already available through Fever.

Getting closer to Edition 19, MUTEK MX presents one more preview of the programming with which it will take over Mexico City from October 9 to 15, as well as the first locations for the iconic programs of the festival: A/Visions 1 at Papalote Museo del Niño, A/Visions 2 at Museo Anahuacalli and the Nocturne 360 marathon at Quarry Studios.

To date, the 19th Edition of MUTEK MX already adds close to 40 national and global proposals that will bring us closer to emerging technologies, experimental media and multidisciplinary performances with human emotion and creativity at the center.

Two months into this mega-convergence of cutting-edge experiences, there are still more artists, programs, and special collaborations to be announced. Stay connected to our digital channels!

MUTEK MX Edition 19: Artists by program

A/Visions 1 @ Digital Dome Papalote Museo del Niño

Monday 9, Tuesday 10, Wednesday 11 and Sunday 15 October. Two daily schedules.

Tickets here!

  • Kazuya Nagaya & Ali M. Demirel & Maurice Jones JP+TR+DE/CA pres. Iwakura
  • Ryoichi Kurokawa JPpres. in s.asmbli

More to be announced.

This iconic program reveals the possibilities of audiovisual art from its maximum scale. There are 30 speakers with a 5.1 surround audio system and a hemispherical screen 23 m in diameter and 15 m high at its zenith, which take us through 360° of pure avant-garde art, in the only week of the year in which experimentation audiovisual takes over the Digital Dome of Papalote Museo del Niño.

The first confirmed pieces augur a profound contrast: on the one hand, Kazuya Nagaya & Ali M. Demirel & Maurice Jones take us on a spiritual and naturalistic journey with Iwakura, while Ryoichi Kurokawa and his piece in s.asmbli will be a forceful encounter with the urban and entropic.

A/Visions 2 @ Anahuacalli Museum

Thursday, October 12.

Tickets here!

  • Hatis Noit & Orly Anan JP+CO/IL
  • Marina Herlop ES/CAT
  • William Basinski & Nika Milano US+VE/MX

In A/Visions 2 the alchemy of the live act takes center stage, with programming that inspires contemplation, deep listening and immersion in the rituals possible by mixing the organic and the digital. This contrast between the ancient energy of Anahuacalli and the avant-garde mix of visual media, sound art and the intensity of the live act will deliver one of the most captivating experiences of this Edition, which also features very special collaborations.

In addition to the long-awaited premiere in Mexico of the live performance by Marina Herlop together with her ensemble (of which the Tarta Relena duo is a part), A/Visions 2 will have the collaboration between the Japanese vocal artist Hatis Noit and Orly Anan, who dazzled us in 2022 with a performance installation during Nocturne 360. In addition, Nika Milano will perform the visual counterpart of the iconic William Basinski's live set in an evening that is anticipated to be historic.
