"But in the midst of all this, there is still art. We are not just here to destroy. Even if we destroy ourselves, we are also here to create." - Patti Smith in conversation with Stephan Crasneanscki
Correspondences is an emotional and energetic experience that combines the poetry and eternal punk flame of Patti Smith, cinematic references and powerful images created by Pedro Maia (Portugal), and the deep instrumentations of an ensemble that creates a soundtrack in real time, with Lucy Railton, Diego Espinosa Cruz González, and Leonardo Heiblum under the direction of Stephan Crasneanscki and Simone Merli of Soundwalk Collective.
With this transdisciplinary mix developed by Patti Smith and Soundwalk Collective after exchanging poems, field recordings taken in places like Chernobyl or the sacred mountains of India, along with cinematographic and sound references, the artists confront us with the importance and consequences of the climate crisis in recent decades, while delivering a unique immersive experience in the contemporary landscape.
