Ánima presents: Therelumini with Soft Circuit Babe and KOI

With the intention of promoting and generating creative discourses that emphasize and raise awareness of our relationship as humans with technology and machines, HolaWave and the Ánima initiative are present at the 18th edition of the MUTEK MX Festival, through a workshop aimed at and a growing community of creative women and minorities interested in the fields of audio synthesis, construction of sound artifacts, and music production.

Within this workshop, the construction of a sound artifact called Theremin de Luz will be carried out, as well as the review of basic aspects of synthesis and some strategies of use for improvisation and recording of the created artifact. This light-reactive Theremin is a simple circuit, made from 4 electronic components, which generates square waves and has two photoresistors that modulate sound frequencies, depending on the brightness or darkness and proximity or distance of the light that it is pointed at
