In their debut at MUTEK MX as part of the selected artists of the Frente Nacional Call, Mercedes Montemayor & Andreah.Tif present the audiovisual version of Volumina, Montemayor's most recent album. This exploration into the depths of the subconscious takes us through a cave inhabited by sound spectrums, visual textures and an aura of enchantment and melancholy. The collaboration between Mercedes and Andreah.Tif for the video for Kyrie was the beginning of this audiovisual expedition, which expands to the seven songs of Volumina and, live, invites us to be in intense subjectivity, in a trance created through the creative alchemy of these two artists.
Mercedes Montemayor and Andreah.Tif move fluently in the flourishing creative circuit of the Bajío region in Mexico. In addition to the explorations in ambient and electronica condensed on her debut album, Mercedes Montemayor is an audio engineer and producer. For her part, Andreah.Tif explores the wide range of possibilities of visual poetics through digital media, from 3D sculpture to reactive audio imagery and has collaborated with artists such as Hanna Lee, Jiony and Buena Tarde.
