Malitzin CortésMX
Malitzin Cortés (CNDSD) is a musician, programmer and speculative architect. She investigates the ways in which sound, architecture, technology and science have the capacity to be great disseminators of discoveries and devices of self-reflection that can trigger speculative worlds. Through processes of creative code, experimental sound, CGI, video game software, installation, and extended reality, she fuses the physical and the digital through new models of social and political interaction, in the search for new forms of relationship from utopia and fiction in a constant state of crisis and also hope.
With a focus on creative code, CGI, video games and extended reality, she has presented her work at festivals and spaces such as Ars Electrónica, MUTEK, ZKM, among others. She teaches at Universidad CENTRO and CMMAS, and has been awarded the Lumen Prize Gold Award in 2023 and the RealMix Latin American Virtual Reality Award. Cortés explores themes such as climate change, sound ecology, and the relationship between nature and culture, through audiovisual concerts, installations, and experimental video games.
