Azu Tiwaline & DJ Plead^TN/FR+AU

Since her 2019 debut, Azu Tiwaline invokes a sonic trance that mixes the thickest extremes of dub and bass with the traditional rhythms of the Ivory Coast and the Tunisian desert, the geographical points that connect her with the sonic heritage of her ancestors. Behind his releases are two decades of a process that mixes electronic experimentation, research and total immersion in the soundscape of the Sahara, where she has her studio. From there, Azu has also prepared her highly anticipated second album, The Fifth Dream, which will be released via I.O.T. Records.

For Jarred Beeler aka DJ Plead, -a producer and DJ of Lebanese origin, born in Australia and based in Berlin-, the dialogue between traditional rhythms and contemporary electronica is best displayed on the dancefloor. In that space, dub, bass, R&B and techno blend between Lebanese pop and sounds from the Middle East that provoke an intense and intriguing encounter with the different cultural influences that inspire DJ Plead. As well as releasing on various labels such as Decisions (of Air Max 97') and Levity Sound (where Azu Tiwaline has also released), DJ Plead founded Sumac, a label that, in addition to his own work, has released music by Logic100 and MarcelDune, among other Australian talent.

After sharing the bill in various clubs and festivals such as MUTEK Montreal or ZOCO, -the party curated by the producer Loris-, Azu Tiwaline and DJ Plead decided to collaborate on a new duo live set project, which revives the deep sonic influences of each one, as well like the contrasts in his approach to creativity and dancefloor. This new live set was developed throughout this summer and MUTEK MX will be the second stage to present it globally, after its debut at the Make Time festival in the United States.
