Live Ephemeral [Coast2c + Julieta Gil]^MX

Live Ephemeral is the meeting point and exploration space between technologists and multimedia artists Sofía Acosta aka Coast2c and Julieta Gil. Through their own creative languages -Coast2c from sound and Julieta from visual/performative- Live Ephemeral is a dialogue constantly evolving into a fleeting moment onstage. For their presentation at MUTEK MX as part of the selected projects of the Frente Nacional Call, Coast2C and Julieta will fill the stage with ephemeral technological action: modular synthesis in enveloping iterations inspired by IDM and techno, together with a collage of 3D sculptures that show the exact creative moment that the duo is going through and that will not be the same in their next presentation.

Although Live Ephemeral is a recent project, Coast2c and Julieta have been experimenting together since 2019 in a space where two of the most interesting trajectories of the art and technology circuit in Mexico converge. Coast2c is the alias with which Sofía presents her work as a producer, audio designer, DJ and creator of modular systems; The latter, deepened as a synthesis workshop leader in emblematic spaces such as Super Booth in Berlin, Synth Library in Prague and Hola.Wave in Mexico. Coast2c's techno sensibilities inhabit her DJ sets, podcast, two EPs released by Gestef Records - Machine Music, Human Dance (2023) and Vault (2021) and remixes for artists like Ross Harper and Theus Mago. Julieta Gil explores the connection between emerging technologies and public space, memory, architecture and nature. With various tools for visual creation, Julieta seeks to reconfigure and materialize what she records in walks and urban explorations against archives that rebel against imposed narratives. For the Live Ephemeral liveset, Julieta will present a collage of 3D sculptures with flower footage collected and processed over the course of a year.
