Hatis Noit

London-based Japanese vocal performer Hatis Noit's accomplished range is astonishingly self-taught, inspired by everything from Gagaku (Japanese classical music) and operatic styles, Bulgarian and Gregorian chanting, to avant-garde and pop vocalists. She first realized her calling at the age of 16 during a trek in Nepal to Buddha's birthplace, while staying at a women’s temple in Lumbini. On a morning walk, she hears faint singing, only to discover on further investigation that a female monk was singing Buddhist chants by herself. The sound moved Hatis Noit so intensely, she was instantly aware of the visceral power of the human voice; a primal and instinctive instrument that connects us to the very essence of humanity, nature and our universe.

Hatis Noit presents the Latin America live debut performance of her much applauded album Aura. The name “Hatis Noit” itself is taken from Japanese folklore, meaning the stem of the lotus flower. The lotus represents the living world, while its root represents the spirit world, therefore Hatis Noit is what connects the two. For the artist, music represents the same netherworld with its ability to move and transport us to the other side; the past, a memory, our subconscious. The haunting tones of Aura invites the audience into these stirring, nostalgic soundscapes.

Orly Anan

Orly Anan is a Colombian/Israeli visual artist and art director interested in the mysticism involved in everyday life. She currently experiments with the intersection of ritual and popular culture, as well as anthropocosmic surrealism. Her research has led her to explore the traditions of various countries as the main source of inspiration, in addition to taking advantage of digital tools and techniques such as sculpture, graphics and clothing to recreate worlds, stories and characters as enigmatic as they are colorful.

Through recent projects and collaborations, Orly has brought her distinctive visual signature to large museum halls and festival stages, experimenting with formats, techniques and staging that make her intriguing visual universe something to be experienced with all the senses. Recently she presented the large immersive installation Salón Delicatessen for the MoM in Seattle, and a new video-installation piece to meditate through chromatic scales.
