Marina Herlop grew up studying the piano, and after a break, she resumed her musical studies completely. Immersed in the Music Conservatory, Marina began to useher piano and voice as the only tools to make music and experiment with harmony and melody.

When the classical structures collide with those of digital experimentation, the creative possibilities are almost infinite. Marina Herlop knows it and, from that intersection, she extracts pure magic in the form of songs. Pripyat (PAN, 2022) is an ode to futuristic imagination, from ancestral roots: the influence of classical piano and Indian carnatic and konnakol (vocal percussion) music, transmuted by Marina's curious and playful sensibility, deliver sounds as captivating as they are intriguing. On stage, Marina's sonic imagination is embodied by an unbeatable ensemble: the Tarta Relena duo on vocals together with a percussionist who, together, elevate to a warm and endearing dimension that sonic magic that has positioned Marina Herlop with one of the most brilliant composers and performers in Spain. This is her Mexico debut.

After two albums guided by piano and voice (Nanook, 2016 and Babasha, 2018), Marina Herlop discovered Ableton Live and focused on the possibilities it offered her. The hypnotic continuum of her early compositions was fragmented and expanded with alien rhythms, layers of processed vocals, and an organic finish. This is how she arrived at Pripyat, a turning point in her career, positioned as one of the best albums of 2022 and which has led her to tour emblematic stages at festivals and theaters in Europe and North America.

Marina Herlop is part of the #FrenteCatalan Front for this edition along with Tarta Relena, Shoeg, Albert-Barque Durán and Alba G. Corral. Her participation is possible thanks to Institut Ramon Llull.
