Schedule

Where?

MUTEK MX is a multi-location festival known for transforming museums, traditional cantinas, and abandoned factories into stages for digital art. For the 20th Edition of DEFENDER, expect classic locations in the history of MUTEK MX, as well as locations that we are presenting for the first time.

In the file of each program you will find the map of its location. If you come from another city, we recommend you look for accommodation in the Cuauhtémoc Municipality, where a large part of the program takes place and with easy access to the rest of the locations. You can also consult our guide Discover CDMX.

How?

The 20th Edition of DEFENDER's programme is diverse and includes paid activities for adults, free-access activities for all ages, as well as specialised events for agents, artists and creators. The invitation is open to anyone eager for new creative experiences and curious to discover what can be expressed through machines, digital tools, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

Why?

MUTEK MX celebrates twenty years of festival at a time when technology, access to information and the production of digital content are advancing at an overwhelming speed. In this whirlwind that demands more and more of our attention, it seems a contradiction to launch an invitation to slow down and rethink these dynamics. In this context, MUTEK MX opens a space to reverse the pace and examine, taste, reflect, dissect, witness, live and CONNECT with the city, with the community and with creative expression from the possibilities that these tools also give us.

“The objective of MUTEK MX sounds simple, but it is complex: to exploit the five senses of the attendees through the infinite possibilities that new technologies allow.” - RADIO FÓRMULA
